Wedding Locations

Find the best wedding locations in the world.

1. Central Park, New York, NY
Few cities are as romantic as New York, and Central Park is the heart of the city. For a small fee, hold your wedding ceremony in the lush gardens of this beautiful park. Popular locations include the Conservatory Gardens, Bow Bridge, the Pool and Shakespeare Garden.

2. Dalhousie Castle, Edinburgh, Scotland
There's a reason that celebrities such as Madonna, Paul McCartney, and Pierce Brosnan have gotten married in castles- you can't help but feel like royalty. Scotland boasts numerous castles; some lie in ruins, and some are still private homes. But many have been made into luxury hotels. Consider having your wedding at romantic Dalhousie Castle. This 13th-century fortress is just a few miles from Edinburgh, giving you country charm and city convenience. The castle has been elegantly furnished, and 14 of the 27 bedrooms are decorated in historical themes.

3. Cathedral Peak Hotel, Drakensberg, South Africa
The hotel accomodations here are comfortable, but the reason to come is the unique stone and thatch chapel. The huge picture window right behind the pulpit will allow you to stage your wedding in front of stunning views of the Drakensberg mountain range. Book a deluxe room, and the same views will greet you through french doors. Or, spring for the presidential suite, and get a private veranda, spa bath and steam bath.

4. Chicago Botanic Gardens, Chicago, IL
Considered to be among the top botanical gardens in the country, Chicago's botanic gardens have many options for a romantic wedding, the best of which is the Rose Terrace. As your guests enjoy themselves on this intimate outside terrace, the fragrance of the flowers will waft up from the adjacent gardens.

5. Marriage Island, San Antonio, TX
San Antonio's Riverwalk is renowned for picturesque colonial architecture, beautiful trees and lovely scenery. It's especially romantic in December, when the trees are decorated with over 100,000 twinkling lights. This island in the middle of the river is a favorite spot for weddings, and has been affectionately dubbed "Marriage Island." After your wedding, enjoy a boat ride down the river.

6. Cancun/Riviera Maya, Mexico
Cancun is the quintessential party town with incredible nightlife and beaches. The Riviera Maya also enjoys a great location just south of Cancun with unbelievable beaches, archeological ruins close by for exploration, and luxurious all-inclusive hotels.

7. Nassau/Paradise Island, Bahamas
Just off the coast of Florida, Nassau and its bridge-connected Paradise Island offer a great combination of nightlife, casino gambling, luxury resorts, and miles of fine, white sandy shorelines that merge into the crystal clear ocean waters. The culture is colorful and friendly, with the famous Junkanoo Dancers always a must-see.

8. St. Thomas, Virgin Islands
This U.S. Virgin Island is always on the list of most popular locations for a destination wedding. This is because it is a U.S. territory that boasts beaches that have been recognized as some of the best in the world, world-class duty-free shopping, and nature preserves.

9. London Eye, London, England
Celebrate your wedding on the London Eye in a private capsule decorated with flowers. The ceremony is timed so you'll exchange vows at the top of the wheel. You'll be pronounced husband and wife 135m above London surrounded by friends, family and breathtaking scenery.

10. French Quarter, New Orleans, Louisiana
For fun-loving, jazzy, Deep South nuptials, there's no better spot than the Big Easy. Travel to a Cajun chapel through the French District in a horse-drawn carriage. Or sail the Mississippi and say "I do" while passing the city's orgy of lights. A truly Cajun wedding features a procession to a jazzy marching band, in which the father of the bride leads with a white umbrella, while guests strut and dance behind him with handkerchiefs.
